![]() ![]() The holes in the deflector were pretty close to the correct location to match with the holes in the hood.Ĭould not get the hood to close easily with the deflector installed. That way the deflector can be flush against the hood lip. Since the plastic anchors protrude from the hood lip, I drilled and filed the holes in the plastic bug deflector to be larger than the head diameter of the anchors. ![]() That seemed to work OK, though there is nothing to stop the plastic anchors from rotating. Also cut down the length, which was not the same for every hole. ![]() I ended up using some plastic screw anchors ( like for drywall), and had to shave them down in diameter to force them in the hole. There is not enough room for long screws. 1/4 inch were slightly too small, and number 16 (is that also 1/4 inch?) were also small. So I made several trips to the hardware stores and could not find bigger short sheet metal screws. However the screws supplied - 1/2 inch long sheet metal screws - were too small diameter for the holes. It is supposed to screw into four already present holes on the underside of the hood in front. The engineer who designed it never actually installed one, at least with the screws supplied. Just put on the Bugflector II by Auto Ventshade onto my 03 EX. ![]()
